My husband is always doing something different for the studio. In fact, he spends more time in there than I do. Yesterday, he put up these Stripa IKEA shelves for my rubber stamp collection. I have rediscovered the beauty of wood mounted rubber stamps and they look great displayed on the wall instead of hidden away in empty pizza boxes. I just like to look at them grouped together all cozy and warm. I'm still debating whether I should put all my Stampin' Up sets up there as well. Any thoughts?
Thank goodness the craziness is over. We had a lovely Christmas here. Lots of family, friends, and food. And while the anticipation of the season is exciting, I find the day after Christmas depressing. The kids are with their grandparents' home and the house is empty again. I have been trying to reorganize the scrap space. Yet again. Yes, the process is never-ending, but it will slowly but surely get there. I am also watching The Office while scrapping and munching on M & M's. In other words, vegetating. And I am enjoying every minute of it.
I forget how much I miss these little monsters. And I thought I would never be one of those who are so tickled by their children that they bore everyone to death by their little quirks and funny sayings. I guess I was wrong and I apologize in advance for subjecting you to it. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm not really sorry. Too bad for you.
Jeff Jr., who is now entrenched in teenage angst tells me he loves me. Wow. These times are few and far between especially as he gets older and I am grateful for it. Abby, on the other hand, always surprises me with her astuteness. After sharing her spit ladened recorder (you know the one- the younger and less evolved flute-like instrument) with me, she stated that she hoped that there better not be lipstick on it from me. So hygienic. I was quick to point out that this face was not wearing any makeup. Surprised, she stated that well, you look pretty without makeup. Wow. So wise for her age.
If you are ever stumped about what to get me for Christmas, this is your hint.
I am taking a two-day chemotherapy class today and tomorrow. It might not seem significant to anyone but the class symbolizes one thing. We are no longer trying to conceive. A baby that is, not a dog, in case you had any doubt. I had let my certification lapse because I was actively trying to have one of my own without two heads. As a result, chemo certification was put on hold. But right now, I am ready to move on. If it happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, my heart will still ache, but I will be ok. Now off to study for the test...
Finished this with a kit from ScrapAddict.
Here's the recipe:
1 pkg frozen chocolate chip cookie dough
1 bag peanut butter cups
mini muffin pan
Shape cookie dough into little balls (OMG, I said little balls. Hee hee.)
and place in mini muffin pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Push peanut butter cups into cookies as soon they come out of the oven.
Loosen cookies with knife and cool on wire rack. This recipe makes
about 36 cookies but because you will be eating most of them as they
come out of the oven, you'll probably have 2 dozen or so. Enjoy!
We could build a bonfire out in the backyard with all the wood scraps from the patio. At least, it's a sign of progress. The roof is done and the columns are coming along. We're hoping for a finished patio by Christmas, but it might not happen since the guys only work on the weekends. Jeff's uncle, Bill, does beautiful work and he's worked hard at getting things done but he builds patios as a side business. So we might be looking at the beginning of the year. Sigh.
